College Arts Program Survey (CAPS) Guide

The New York State Alliance for Arts Education (NYSAAE) in partnership with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) has conducted a Survey of Higher Education Providers of Degrees in Fine and Applied Arts. The purpose of the survey is to develop a compendium of resources available to New York State high school students considering pursuing a degree in the Arts. This compendium will also provide high school counselors, teachers and administrators, and libraries with the tools they need to help students exploring higher education in the arts fields.

Of the 126 schools offering degree bearing programs, 30 submitted detailed information via our online survey. Information appears for all 126 schools, with expanded listings for survey respondants. If your are a representative of a college that did not participate in the survey, please contact us at director@nyssae.org to expand your school's listing.

The degree bearing programs have been categorized by the following disciplines: Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Fine & Other Applied Arts.
