Americans for the Arts

Arts Education Partnership

National Assembly of State Arts Agencies

The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is the membership organization that unites, represents and serves the nation's state and jurisdictional arts agencies. Each of the 56 states and jurisdictions has created an agency to support excellence in and access to the arts.  NASAA's mission is to advance and promote a meaningful role for the arts in the lives of individuals, families and communities throughout the United States. National Dance Education Organization

NDEO advances dance education centered in the arts. NDEO is the voice of representation for the field in legislatures, schools of dance, PreK-12 schools, and institutions of higher education throughout the country. NDEO has forged alliances with approximately 150 federal and state agencies and arts associations in support of dance arts education. The Journal of Dance Education (JODE), their official quarterly publication, is included with full membership.

National PTA 

As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, National PTA reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.  National PTA does not act alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members.

New York State Alliance for Arts Education 

Advocacy is at the core of the NYSAAE mission.  NYSAAE has developed tools to support local, regional, and statewide advocacy for arts education.  Whether at a community meeting or at the state legislature, advocates can use the NYSAAE toolkits, position papers, research summaries and other resources to make the case for supportive policies.  In addition, NYSAAE provides advocacy alerts and e-newsletter to inform constituents on funding, policy issues and important changes in the state and national arenas.

The New York State Art Teachers Association

The New York State Art Teachers, NYSATA, is a non-profit professional organization founded in 1948 for the purpose of advancing the cause of art education. Members of NYSATA include representatives from pre-school through university level art educators, art administrators, museum educators, school administrators, school districts, commercial representatives, and friends and benefactors.

New York State Theatre Education Association

NYSTEA members are educators and artists, publishers and suppliers who preserve, enhance, and advocate drama/theatre in our schools and communities.  The Association advocates for drama/theatre in schools and communities on state and local levels.  Additionally, they address state mandates and drama/theatre education by assessing curriculum development, standards, certification/licensing, and assessment issues. The Association also organizes annual conferences for educators and students and administers recognition awards to professionals in the fields of theatre and education

New York State Department of Education – Elementary, Middle School and Continuing Education

EMSC oversees pre-K through 12th grade programs, as well as continuing education. The division has diverse responsibilities, including learning and curriculum standards, Regents exams and other State tests, non-public school services, facilities planning, the GED program, and school report cards.

VSA Arts 

VSA arts implements various inclusive programs and resources designed to integrate the creative arts into educational and community programs for persons with and without disabilities. VSA arts also administers numerous awards and events that recognize the artistic achievements of young artists with disabilities, as well as the leadership of cultural institutions and educators for excellence in inclusive arts programming. VSA arts programs are implemented through a network of local, state, national and international VSA arts organizations and affiliates, in collaboration or partnership with educational and cultural institutions, arts agencies, associations for people with disabilities, and health and rehabilitation organizations.
