NYSAAE is committed to encouraging greater use of the arts and artist residencies in schools to support non-arts curriculum areas.

The Artists in Schools regrant program sponsors innovative artist residencies in elementary, middle and high schools throughout Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Fulton, Montgomery, and Schoharie Counties.

This program supports partnerships between schools and teaching artists or cultural organizations that integrate the arts with non-arts subjects. Grants from $500-$5,000 are available to match funds from your school, district, PTA/PTO and other sources.

First time applicants are eligible for fundiing up to $2,500. Returning applicants are eligible for increased funding up to $5,000 (additional stipulations apply).

This program is made possible with public funds from the Local Capacity Building Initiative, a regrant program of the Arts in Education Program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), a State Agency.

NYSAAE has been appointed by the New York State Council on the Arts to distribute more than $16,000 to schools in support of artist residencies.

If your school is not located in one of these counties, click here to locate your AIE-LCB site.  Schools may apply annually for artist residency grants.

The Artists in Schools Grant Review Panel will convene on December 10, 2010.
